WHERE WE COME FROM.

Our history.

1955
Lufthansa German Airlines begins an ab initio pilot training program
1967
Practical training contracted to Pacific Southwest Airlines (PSA) in San Diego
1970
Program moves to Goodyear, Arizona
1992
Lufthansa purchases all assets from PSA Group and forms its own wholly owned subsidiary to provide flight training.

THE EXPERIENCE YOU NEED.

Our team.

Train with highly qualified instructor pilots averaging over 5,000 hours of dual-instruction experience. All have been trained in accordance with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) training standards. Each year LAT is committed to providing continuing education for our instructor pilots – this includes at least six hours of flight training and ground training sessions.

Maintenance

Our maintenance.

Seamless training for you is ensured: We operate our maintenance under the regulations of a 145 repair station and perform all operations from tire changing to progressive inspection.

 

The maintenance team upholds the highest standards of quality and safety and operates seven days a week. It comprises a full staff of dedicated personnel from ground support, parts personnel, and technicians to avionic/instrument staff.

 

We are also contracted to provide line and shop maintenance for our third-party customers, who operate a fleet of diamond-model aircraft.

United CPP Flight Instructor

The United Career Path Program offers pilot instructors a quick and defined path to become a first officer. Candidates who are selected will be placed in the United’s hiring pool as a First Officer after 18 months of flight instruction at Lufthansa Aviation Training.
